What is the point of hydrogen cars when the hydrogen is produced by electric?

and the electric (electrolysis) produced by coal/oil/nuclear/etc why not just have electric cars with a nice clean electric motor.
Batteries could be swapped at petrol stations so no need to wait.
Electricity also comes from solar.
I think industry is tooled up for the internal combustion engine petrol or hydrogen and are unwilling to change

It is expensive to produce Hydrogen (H2) from… fossil fuels. Other possible primary sources of energy would be even more expensive.

So how is it done ? Hydrocarbs are split into their basic elements: Carbon (C) and Hydrogen (H2)

So here´s the deal:
Try to pretend you´re not going to use the carbon why we´re mining coal in large quantities ??? Isn´t that an illusion ?
why not directly burn regular fuel then ? Doesn´t it seem more logical ?

Especially, the cheapest option for hydrogen is to produce it from natural gas. But we can already power cars with natural gas LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) using actual technologies and it´s very clean… so ?

Hydrogen is a carrier energy carrier like electricity and a not a source of energy (sun, wind, coal, etc…). It can´t naturally be found in large quantities in the environment. A carrier can only be produced with a source.

What´s your opinion ?
I just feel that since wind and photovoltaic produce directly a very good and useful energy carrier (electricity) using it to create hydrogen with an efficiency of 50% would be wasting taxpayers money.

Which type of weld should i use for my Hydrogen HHO Generator?

I have made many Hydrogen fuel cells in the past, but i am looking to make a quality one that can be put into a car for long term use. It will use 8 large stainless steel wall plates. Each plate needs to have 1 eyelet welded to it. I was thinking about TIG welding it, and i think that it is about my only option since i am using stainless steel, but is that too hot for a flimsy little eyelet? Also, I am not going to fasten them down with bolts…the metal is hard to drill through and a bolt protrudes too far on either side. I need the plates very VERY close together. (btw, an eyelet is a little metal loop that can be fastened to a bolt or ***** hole, and it has a place to crimp wires down on it).

Any welding gurus care to share a little insight?

Why do people ignore the science/reality behind Hydrogen fuel?

The fact I hear so many people out there chanting this as it will SAVE US in the future really annoys me about the ignorance of society, all of a sudden everyone is an expert on energy. Sorry to burst your bubble but there will be no switch to hydrogen. Hydrogen is not a fuel, it’s an energy transfer medium. It must be made from either water or natural gas. The rate of energy loss in hydrogen is as high as 80%. You would need a fuel tank the size of your car to get the same energy as a tank of gasoline. Not to mention the transport/storage issues (compression/liquefaction/pressure/leaks, etc)

Bottom line is hydrogen has a very low energy density, and is a net energy loss. That is, it’s EROEI is very negative 0.2:1.
